So I made it out to San Antonio’s Cars and Coffee and even though it was overcast and ended up raining, there was a good showing. I tend to enjoy these types of meets in that unique cars tend to show up. Now I know a lot of people get excited about exotic sport cars and such, and from time to time I get excited about seeing a special one, but for the most part, the cars that tend to interest me are the ones that have personality and ownership soul in them. I saw two cars at Cars and Coffee this month that caught my eye. The first is Frank’s MR2, as soon as I saw this car I felt like I was staring at a perfect mix of a Super Street car, hella flush and drifter. Frank and his MR2 just seemed to radiate a passion for the automobile.
The other car that caught my eye was Dave’s 93 Mustang SVT Cobra. Now if you know anything about Mustangs, you know the 93 Mustang SVT Cobra is a special car, it was the model that pretty much embodies that era of Mustangs. Stock they made 235hp and had revised brakes and suspension. Dave’s even had a super charger on his, he said it makes around 400rwhp, which sounded about right. I saw he had a for sale sign on it and I asked why he was selling it and his answer was pretty spot on for a Mustang owner, “The wife said if I sell this car and my other project I can get a brand new Mustang 5.0.” Hopefully his Mustang Cobra finds a good home!
